One of the stunning talents of the Kazakh community is to hunt with eagles or eagle hunting. Eagle hunting is not just about living-based, it is also about having fun, strengthen oneself and was developed earlier in Kazakh land. Eagle hunters are also respected in the community level. Because they used to provide the community with skins of wolf, fox and rabbits early time. Also depending on the temptation skills of the eagle, it used to cost a lot during XIX centuries. TEAM
An English or Russian-speaking Mongolian or Kazakh guide will accompany you during the tour. Additionally, an exceptional cook and a skilled driver (without using GPS) will be part of your adventure. Our horse guide, equipped with packing camels, will join you for the trekking portion of your tour.
TRANSPORTATION
We offer two different transportation options for this tour. The first is a high-level, latest model, air-conditioned private 4WD vehicle for your comfort. The second option is a 4×4 Russian van.
MEAL
During your trip, we will serve meals based on the Mongolian diet, which consists of mutton, beef, rice, and noodles. Vegetables, eggs, peanut butter, and cheese are also available. Our cooks will provide lunchboxes as well.
PERSONAL TRAVEL SUPPLIES
For your trip to western Mongolia, we recommend bringing warm clothing, such as rain jackets, waterproof trekking boots, gloves, and hats. Don’t forget to prepare a first aid kit and bring your camera equipment.

Itinerary
Eagle festival in western Mongolia | |||
Day 1 | Arriving in UB and city tour. Overnight in UB. Hotel and Lunch & Dinner are provided | ||
Day 2 | Arrive in Ulgii town. Meet your tour team and city tour is recommended for 2 hours in Ulgii town. Drive about 2 hours to Khairakhti mountain of Sogog village and overnight with local Eagle Hunters’ family. Lunch & Dinner | ||
Day 3 | One more day at Eagle Hunter’s family and learn more about the culture and lifestyle of nomadic people: horse riding and eagle hunting day with eagle hunter. | ||
Day 4 | Arrive at Oigyr Ranger station and drive to Brown Hill to see the Glacier and Altai Tavan bogd. Trek closer to Glacier. Drive back to Ranger Station and overnight with a family. | ||
Day 5 | Arrive in Ulgii and overnight in a hotel. | ||
