About Tour
Golden Eagle Festival is one of the best attractions for both local and foreign tourists. It is also a great opportunity for photographers. It is not just a festival, but it is also an ancient hunting tradition and unique cultural heritage of the Kazakh minority living in western Mongolia.

Day 1. | Your driver and guide will meet you at the airport or bus station. You will have lunch in the town and start your tour to Altai Tavan Bogd National Park. It takes more than 5 hours of driving to the Ranger Station. During early October or late September, it will already snow and will be difficult for trekking or horse riding by the region. However, we can do short treks or short horse riding nearby the local families located close to the Oygor Ranger Station. Day 2 | We will start our journey to the viewpoint of Altai Tavan Bogd. You eighter can trek or take the minivan. It takes around 2 hours to reach the viewpoint by car and more than 4 hours of trekking. You can do photographing and enjoy the beauty of the Altai Tavan Bogd. Day 3 | We will drive back to a small village Oygor to meet Kazakh eagle hunter and stay with his family (nomadic family) to learn more about eagle hunting and nomadic lifestyle. The eagle hunter’s daughter is also practicing being an eagle huntress. So, as you visit to the family, you can do photographing of both eagle hunter and huntress including whole families. The family has yaks, cows, sheep, goats and camels. You can experience milking yaks if you are interested. You will have a relaxing afternoon and spend time with family and taking pictures of eagle until dinner. After dinner, you will experience Kazakh traditional performance at the eagle hunter’s family. Day 4 | It is a day for everyone including eagle hunter and eagle huntress to experience hunting fox or rabbits nearby the mountain. If you are a good horse rider, you can go with eagle hunter to the closest mountains and try to hunt. Even if you are not experienced horse rider, we recommend you to a horse closer by the eagle hunter’s family and experience calling eagle on you arm. This is an amazing experience and you will be proud of yourself when the eagle lands on your arm.
