The surrounding of the historical and cultural monument of the red and black ink paintings at Ikh Tengeriin Am has been decorated and it has opened today. In cooperation with the Capital Tourism Department and the Institute of Archeology of the Science Academy, tourism products of Ulaanbaatar are increasing in order to develop historical and cultural monuments around the city, and promote the historical and cultural monuments to the public.
These monuments were discovered and studied by the famous Soviet scientist A.P. Okladnikov in 1960. They are an immovable historical and cultural monument with rock paintings from the Bronze Age, ink paintings from the 13th century, Mongolian, Chinese, and Tibetan inscriptions.
Experts warn that some historical and cultural monuments around the city are under the protection of the state and the capital, but they are poorly preserved and protected, such as fences have been built around them, entrances and exits have been closed, equipment has been destroyed, and some monuments are at risk of destruction. By protecting these monuments and turning them into tourism products, it is believed that the work of restoring and preserving the history and monuments has begun.
